Third Post -- Progress Update 4/12/11

Get Ready for our pre-vacation Progress Report Presentations! You should all be prepared to present your project, even in it's "not quite finished state" to the class on Thursday, April 14th. In the 2 minute presentation, you will show us your blog, FB Page, or PSA; describe what you've done for your project and what you still have to do; who you interviewed and how it went; what you've done for outreach to raise awareness for your project and what you still need to do. Be efficient and make the transitions between presentations quick!

For this post: Explain what you've been doing this week for your project, successes and challenges, and what you still need to do.
What's inspiring you? Have you had any meaningful conversations or email communications with people affected by the issue? How's the interview going? Have you posted new links or increased the number of followers learning about your issue?

  1. This week I have been working on finding other websites that have to do with animal abuse. I posted videos and links that have to do with it. Also I am still trying to find someone to interview because the person did not reply. Hopefully I find one in time!

  2. This week i have been able to add more blogs to my blog and put more detail into my old ones. I am still working on my interview and i am going to be doing it tomorrow. After completing the interview im still going to add more to my blog and post many new blogs to it. I think doing the interview will be a good way to learn how someone else was affected by it as well!!

  3. I decided that a facebook page would be an easier option than a blog because I'm more familiar with how facebook works than blogger. I am doing my interview later on today and have saved pictures and wrote up facts and saved them in a folder to add to the facebook page.

  6. This week, I have created my Facebook page and have been posting things to it. As of now, I need to continue posting things on to my page and need to write a formal copy of my interviews. The people I interviewed had such inspiring stories because although their families did not approve of them converting, they followed their beliefs and converted anyway and are now living very happy and productive lives.

  7. So far into my project, I have created a blog in which I have a few different posts of articles, videos and links. I have included my own thoughts as well, reinforcing the sources that I posted. I actually ran into a problem because the person who I planned to interview did not agree to so I am in need of finding another interviewee, which I don't think will be a huge problem. But putting that aside, everything involved in my project is going as planned!

  8. I have updated my blog with videos and pictures. Also I have posted my personal experience at the walk for M.S. Also recently I made a facebook page which I feel will get more views than the blog. I have posted information about M.S. and made a poll. I hope it will be an interactive way to inform people. I plan on interviewing my Dad tonight and posting those answers on my blog and facebook page.

  10. I'm still working on my Facebook page and what things are important to add and what isn't. I have yet to interview my person because their schedule is complicated but hopefully I'll be able to interview them on thursday. I've been trying to look up places where people can seek help if they are depressed and posting in on my wall. Also, I've been trying to get my page noticed and liked by people who I'm friends with on Facebook.

  11. BULLYING AWARENESS (ignore the name above!)

Everything is going well so far. For my project this week, my main goal was to get a lot of people to like my page and increase awareness. I found a couple of the big news articles and stories about recent bullying cases to include on my Facebook page. The hardest part was finding a variety of things to post. I had a good conversation with someone who was bullied and I asked them a variety of questions to get a better understanding of this issue. The number of "Likes" has increased. I have close to 30 people liking my page.

  12. This past week I have filmed my whole psa and am still in the process of editing it to be a final movie clip. I have never taken a media class so I didn't know how to edit movies or do anything with them really, so I have learned a lot by just doing this one psa. I am doing my interview over April break and hopefully my project will come to a complete close a few days after we get back.
